Nosizwe Nokwe


Nokwe holds an MSc in chemical engineering from the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas, an International Management Certificate from Insead, a certificate in finance and accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand, and was part of the Global Executive Development Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Studies.

One of the first African woman petrochemical engineers in South Africa, Nokwe has spent 14 years in the oil industry.

She has held numerous portfolios including Process Engineer at the Engen refinery; Project Engineer; Managing Director of Engen in Mozambique and in Namibia; General Manager of Corporate Affairs; General Manager of Logistics, Supply, Trading and Shipping; General Manager of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality; General Manager of Corporate Strategy and Planning.

Nokwe was an Executive Director at Engen for six years and is currently the CEO of the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency.

She was the recipient of the Top Woman Leader of Tomorrow Award in 2005.
