Mapetla is currently CEO of Biotech Pharmaceuticals.

He holds a number of degrees: BSc Chemistry (Lesotho); BSc Chemical Engineering – Exemption (USA); MSc Analytical Chemistry (USA); Business Management Diploma (Irish Management Institute, Dublin); Executive Development Programme (Wits University); and Certificate Programme in Financial Analysis (Wits University).

Mapetla’s career has covered a number of senior appointments, including Group Director, Corporate Affairs & Strategy, Aspen Pharmacare Africa; Regional Director for Africa, SA Druggists; Managing Director, International Game Technology; Operations and Marketing executive, NSB; Managing Director, Lesotho Pharma Corporation; and QA Sectional Head, Boots Pharma, UK
